It is the policy of Axima Building Services Ltd. to develop a safe, healthy and environmentally
conscious culture throughout the organisation.
We are committed to the prevention of injuries and ill health of our employees, subcontractors
and others that may be affected by our work activities and to prevent any damage or loss to
property and equipment.
We are also committed to minimise the impact on the environment of our building services
activities. Our programme of continuous improvement balances the needs of a sustainable
environment with appropriate operational management activities.
We aim to minimise waste and consumption of materials, and promote recycling and the
use of recycled materials. We shall manage energy wisely and reduce the level of harmful emissions, including a
review of the environmental impact of our transport policy.
We provide information to clients so they are aware of the SHE aspects of the services
installed in their buildings so they can operate and maintain them efficiently and safely.
Our employees are our most valuable asset and we ensure that all employees are informed
about the policy and the arrangements for its implementation. All employees are provided with
appropriate training and awareness to enable them to fulfil their SHE responsibilities, and
improve their health and safety at work.
We recognise our legal responsibilities and consider that SHE legislation provides a minimum
standard, which forms the foundation for the ongoing development of our SHE management
system in addressing changing business and legislatory needs.
We encourage similar standards to our own from our suppliers and subcontractors.
We maintain an organisational structure with clearly defined responsibilities to provide a
framework for effective management and control of SHE activities.
A Board Director has been assigned responsibility for the implementation of the SHE policy
and maintenance and communication of the SHE management system. Operational management
have the principal responsibility for implementing the SHE management systems, supported by
an appropriate number of regional safety managers / advisers who provide authoritative advice
and guidance.
We continue to review and measure health and safety performance to ensure standards are
being met. An annual review of the SHE Policy and SHE management system is undertaken
to determine its effectiveness and to identify necessary changes. These changes address
performance improvement, changing business needs, new legislation, new technology and
the need for recognition of our SHE management systems through International standards
such as ISO 14001 “Environmental Management Systems”, and OSHAS 18001 “Occupational
Health and Safety Management Systems”.
