Axima Building Services Ltd, played a vital role in converting the former Bankside Power Station into one of the four most important modern art galleries in the world. This is the Tate Gallery of Modern Art, which
opened on schedule in May 2000, stimulating a wealth of interest and applause from the world's media.

The company completed a £3.4 million contract to install all the mechanical services for the main shell and core of the development together with specialist services for the catering, entertainment and function suites. These included the mechanical central plant, low-pressure hot water heating system, chilled water system, public health installations, domestic services and drainage.

The collection now ranks alongside the Guggenheim and Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Pompidou Centre in Paris, as a home of 20th and 21st century art that everyone must see at least
once in a lifetime.
